To our readers
With the monthly overview for May 2017, we are continuing our reports on polymer prices in China, which we had to interrupt in February.

While the price reports are in the same proven format as previously, they now focus to a greater extent on the availability of the individual polymer types for Chinese converters.

In this way, European converters can obtain a better picture of the prevailing raw material conditions for their competitors in Asia and China and draw direct comparisons with their own situation.
Notes on these reports
Contrary to Europe and North America, polymer is traded on a daily basis in China. PIE works together with a seasoned Chinese expert, who observes the ongoing price developments in the country’s leading polymer trading centres. Since plastic is traded daily, the prices are a reliable reflection of the actual market trends.

Taking currency fluctuations into account, PIE then translates and aggregates this data, and enriches it with qualitative reports from our expert about current market developments in China.
