Standard thermoplastics trend June 2020: Prices climbing up on a broad front / Increases mostly smaller than the monomer rise / Converters quiet after pre-buying in May / Demand is subdued
Western European prices for standard thermoplastic ended the slide of the past three months and began to move up again in June. In doing this, they followed the tendency of the feedstocks, where the contracts for ethylene, propylene and styrene all emerged higher. In the first third of June, producers seldom managed to factor in the full increase in the cost of the monomer.
